A child is born to its Mother
what a precious gift to hold
given to you by God up above
to love, cherish and mold

When given to you its forever
to raise and love and yearn
what we tend to forget is
this child of ours is just a precious loan

How does a Mother say goodbye
to a precious child her son,
how can she let him go
when she knows her work is not done

We question why we must suffer
how do we handle this pain
Why I as a mother
Could not see my son grow fully into a man

For you see, God took him from me
at such an early age
and now all that is left in my heart
is the pain and the rage

I want my son back home with me
God why did you take him away
Now its your turn to take care of him
and keep him safe from harm I pray.

I miss you my dearest son
I cry out in pain
I know in my heart of hearts
someday I'll see you again

That day can not be soon enough
to stand by your side
until that day comes
I'll remember you with pride

Just as the first day I held you
when you were just a tiny babe
and on that last day I lean over to kiss
before you went to your grave

My heart is full of love for you
and it shall never die
and someday my tears of pain will pass
and I shall no longer cry

I'll always miss you my dear son
you can count on that
just as I'll always pray to God...
Please send me my child back.

This poem is written by me to Raymond's Mother,
Theresa, my dearest friend, with love and affection.
My heart feels your pain, your loss and your sorrow.
Please know and understand I am with you always.

All my love to you,

Karen
