To My Little One I Never Knew

You were once a tiny babe within me,
One that God never allowed me to see.
I will never get to know you.
Were your eyes green or blue?
Was your hair blonde or brown?
Oh, how I hope you never frowned.
One day you were my child,
Laying within my womb,
And the next you were within His.
I pray that He keeps you safe and warm at night.
I pray He loves and holds you tight.
For mommy misses you little one,
more than you'll ever know.
I will always cherish you in my heart just so.
You will never be forgotten,
As the years go by.
I will always know I have a little one,
Sleeping in the sky.
Oh, how I hope the pain will go away,
But the love I have for you will always stay.
I wish you sweet dreams my dear little babe,
and always wonder the decision God made.
Why did He take you away from me.
Your sweet little face I never did see.
Sleep tight my little one, your stay with me was short.
Please keep me in your heart, as you will be in mine.
I'll think of you every day the sun shines.
