How to thank God above
For sending me a daughter to love
not only did he send one to me
he has sent two you see

Each one is different in their ways
each one gets me through my days
Their laugh, their tears, even their cry
Ever so gently gets me by

I heard the words to this song today
and knew in my heart I see them this way
When I truly look in their eyes
it takes away my pain of years gone by

They give me love, they give me joy
and yes at times they even annoy
but I shall never love them any less
for having them both I am truly blessed

How proud I am of my girls today
and every night I sit and pray
as they grow to the women they shall be
That in someway they keep a part of me

I hope my love is more then enough
To get them through when times are rough
I hope they keep within their heart
the lessons I taught them from the start

I want them to be able to stand on their own
but at the same time know they are not alone
To be able to reach out when there is a need
To grow up strong and truly succeed

See others around them as they live day to day
To be able to reach out and help in any way
Understand what life is all about
Grow up happy and have no doubt

I thank you both from the bottom of my heart
Know that I have loved you from the start
Remember that I shall always be here
To offer the hugs and wipe away your fear

Thank you both for loving me
for helping me learn, by watching thee
For giving me laughter and so much love
