I see the eyes they look so blue
I wish I knew what to do
Can I reach within her soul?
Can I try and help console

Should I step back and not say a thing
Wait to see what the next moment brings
Or should I shout hey over here
Can I do anything for you dear

I think Ill wait and watch her pass by
Till the daylight turns dark in the sky
Let her handle what bothers her so
I don’t really think I care to know

As I sit and watch she takes a step
I wonder just what she will do next
Just as she walks over my path
I clearly see how sad her mask

Take a deep breath and a deep sigh
I can hear her pain hear her cry
Before she has a chance to get out of view
I look and say what can I do

She looks to me puzzled and alone
As the sun settings blaze is brightly shown
Holds her hand to shield her face
To see whose path she stepped in place

I stand up my shadow blocks the light
From the strong rays of the coming night
She looks at me says not a word
Wondering what is it she just heard

So meek and mild her lips so dry
She turns to me and simply says why
Why did you speak to me that way
What is it you have to say

You look so sad was my reply
So lonely and about to cry
I just want to make sure your ok
To see if I can help in any way

We looked at each other for a moment or two
Not quite sure knowing what to do
I look at her and offered a smile
Time stood still for the longest while

I held my hand out for her to take
Wondering if a friend we could make
She ponders, looks, afraid to make a sound
And slowly starts to look around

Then suddenly she is shocked at what she sees
As her eyes stare blankly back at me
Hello I say to her once again
I stand here just offering to be your friend.
