Funny how things in life seem to change
when your eyes are closed
things get out of range
without notice things are transposed

They say change is good for the soul
I guess that would be true
as long as you reach your goal
I would be happy for you

I hope you look before you leap
into your new phase of life
and all the joys that you reap
takes away your painful strife

Don't run to fast without taking the time
to think, to ponder and weigh it all
before you start your new climb
for when you arrive I want you to stand tall

Know in your heart I have only the best intentions
would never stand and block your way
Look at me as offering interventions
trying to help take your pain away

I know in the end you will prevail
you have strength you have not yet found
you see yourself as tired and frail
where I see you strong and profound

So remember as hard as all of this might be
Changes can be good and in the end
When things are all settled you will see
Standing there your true found friend
