Christmas Wish

My Christmas Wish...

As another Christmas season is upon us I sit and think of what my Christmas wish would be. I could wish for the usual things such as world peace, end hunger, end the wars... just as all do across the land.

For some reason this year I wanted to try to come up with something different, yet no matter how hard or long I think of it nothing seems to come to mind.

When something comes to mind I stop and think... ohh that's a selfish wish... or not something worth even wishing for.

I went to this Christmas party last weekend. It is not your usual type Christmas gathering. This is something so very special. It is called An Angel Christmas party. It is put on every year by a mother of a choir member that my husband is in at our local church. We have been invited a few times over the past several years. And I have to say what a joyous way to start your Christmas Season. You see this party not everyone knows the others there, in fact I only knew a few other then my husband and the hostess for the fact I was there before. What makes this party so special is this family opens their home all adorned with Christmas decor, have lots to drink and plenty to eat. What makes it an Angel Party is the fact that we the guest bring a Christmas gift. This year was a little different then those in the past. The gifts were to be unwrapped and placed under their Christmas Tree. You also brought along gloves, mittens, scarves or hats to be added to a warmth tree. What is being done with these gifts is this lovely family gathers them all up and takes them to a special place. At this special place families that have not much in life get to come in and Christmas shop for their Children.

You know my Christmas wish is really not that hard at all this year... I wish... That someday my family can be that Christmas Angel family... that my family will truly come to learn and understand just what the True Meaning of Christmas is. Just to think to be able to help so many in need at this special time of year. To be able to see those parents walk in and be able to select things just for their special children... this is TRULY THE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS in my eyes... to see the joy... the love... the smiles... that others receive by others giving.

I want to thank this special family for showing me their love and their kindness they offer to others. I want to thank them for opening up my heart... for allowing me to see what the joy of the season is all about. I wonder if this family truly knows how many they have helped not just by bringing the gifts for those that need it.

And I want to let them know that someday down the road there will be more Special Angel Parties... and all will be thanks to them... for spreading the love they have.
